The Shelf Chaopraya, which was called Shelf 122 in construction, will sail from the Hamriyah, Sharjah-based yard in the next few days.
The jack-up is of LeTourneau Super 116E Class design and can accommodate up to 160 people. The rig drill in 350 feet (107 metres) of water and to 30,000 feet.
Shelf won two contracts from Chevron in 2014 for newbuild jack-ups to work for five years each off Thailand, starting in the first and third quarters of 2017.
