Two of the four drillships currently drilling for Shell in the US offshore play - Deepwater Proteus and Deepwater Thalassa - will see their dayrates fall as a result of "a reduced crew complement", according to rig owner Transocean.
Deepwater Proteus, which is drilling near Shell's Appomattox discovery, will be working for $486,000 a day from August, a reduction of $12,000 a day.
