The GM-ES-3 probe, also known as Priodontes-1, failed to find any hydrocarbons in the main target reservoir asfter hitting a 325-metre sand interval at the prospect.
However, the joint venture reported on 17 April that the well had encountered 50 metres of oil-stained sands in the secondary Bradypus fan, and a decision was made to drill deeper.
The well was then drilled to a total depth of 6318 metres but was terminated with no further indications of hydrocarbons.
