Anglo-Dutch supermajor Shell confirmed it has received a request for indictment over the purchase of an offshore oil and gas block in Nigeria.
The confirmation follows reports last week that Shell and Italian giant Eni, as well as Eni chief executive Claudio Descalzi, had been charged with corruption in Italy over the 2011 purchase of OPL 245 from Malabu Oil & Gas.
