Ian Silk, Shell's vice president of deep-water projects, said during a question-and-answer session at the Offshore Technology Conference in Houston on Wednesday that Shell is "absolutely" looking at technology for some floating production, storage and offloading vessel-based projects that can separate carbon dioxide during gas production.

"Where you have a high CO2 content then yes, absolutely," Silk said during the lunch session in response to a question about bolt-on carbon capture and storage (CCS) facilities for offshore installations.
