Anadarko said in its second-quarter operations report that it "continued to advance its understanding of the Shenandoah discovery" after hitting more than 1040 net feet of oil pay with the Shenandoah-5 appraisal well.
The successful well extends the Lower Tertiary field further east, the company said. It was drilled with Diamond drillship Ocean Black Hawk in Walker Ridge Block 51.
"The plan is to run a production liner and secure the well for future production operations," Anadarko said.
