Houston-based Vaalco said the lower pump in the Avouma 2-H well was installed last week and the well is now producing at about 1850 barrels per day of oil gross (450 bpd net to Vaalco).
The well had been producing about 2700 bpd prior to the first ESP failure, Vaalco said.
"Vaalco is currently flowing the well at a lower rate while monitoring the performance of the ESP," it said in a statement.
