The company posted profits of 24.4 billion yuan ($3.8 billion), a 22% decrease over the first half of last year.
Meanwhile, Sinopec's combined oil and gas production saw a less dramatic dip of 1.7% to 233 million barrels of oil equivalent year over year.
Overall, crude oil production was down by 2.4% to 174 million barrels. Domestic production declined by 4.3%
