The company posted a profit of 27.1 billion yuan ($4.1 billion) for the opening six months of 2016, down 14.3% on the nearly 31.7 billion yuan profit booked over the same period last year.
This came as turnover and other operating revenues slipped from more than 1 trillion yuan in the first half of 2015 to 879.2 billion yuan this year which Sinopec blamed on the decline in oil prices.
