The London-listed company spun the bit on its first well on the operated licence with the Enterprise Drilling Morocco HH300 rig on Wednesday, it said.
Sound is targeting a total depth of 2640 metres, with drilling and testing expected to take around 80 days.
The company is looking to prove the commerciality of the TAGI reservoir. Gas produced from Tendrara is expected to feed the gas-hungry domestic market or be connected to the Gazoduc Maghreb gas export pipeline.
