The opening of an airport near the port of Sabetta in February has helped the operator and its contractors to increase the number of people engaged in construction efforts on site to about 8800 today, executive director Yevgeny Kot told Upstream at the World Gas Conference in Paris.
Flights from Moscow are landing in Sabetta three times per day, with contractors currently arranging air links with the Russian oil cities of Samara and Tyumen to bring in more personnel, he added.
