Southwestern adds acreage after deal close

US independent Southwestern Energy closed a multi-billion dollar deal with Chesapeake Energy to take control of a major acreage package in the Marcellus and Utica shales and immediately followed up with the addition of another 30,000 acres in the area from Norwegian partner Statoil.
