As in previous years, Rosneft went public with dozens of new contracts and memoranda of understanding.
Among the deals, Rosneft chief executive Igor Sechin and BP Russia president David Campbell signed an agreement to create a joint venture, Yermak Neftegaz, to carry out exploration in the West Siberian and Yenisey-Khatanga basins.
BP has committed to provide up to $300 million in two phases for Yermak’s exploration programme, while Rosneft will contribute licences and operational experience in West Siberia and Yenisey-Khatanga.
