The state-contolled player confirmed to Upstream earlier reports that there was a leak on the facility on Sunday, saying this was reported at 3:20pm local time.
A spokesman said the situation was soon "clarified" and "normalisation" was swiftly restored, with output brought back on Sunday night.
Local publication Stavanger Aftenblad earlier reported that the alarm on the facility was triggered and 210 personnel on board were mustered to lifeboats, where they remained for about 45 minutes while the situation was dealt with.
