The Norwegian operator has outlined a 1 December spud for the prospect in Walker Ridge blocks 271 and 272.
The work on the probe will be completed with an unspecified drillship some 167 miles offshore in 6734 feet of water. That is according to filings cleared this month by the US Bureau of Safety & Environmental Enforcement.
Statoil has laid out five well locations for potential drilling through 2019.
