Norwegian operator Statoil has been given a drilling permit for its upcoming wildcat well on the Mim prospect in the Norwegian Sea.

The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate granted Statoil the drilling permit on Wednesday for the 6507/3-12 well in production licence 159 B.

 

The company will use the semi-submersible Deepsea Bergen to drill the well which will target the Mim North and South structures in a water depth of roughly 380 metres.
