A platform manager reported smoke and a fire coming from the utility shaft of the platform at 8:20 local time Sunday morning. No injuries were reported and the fire was said to be extinguished by 11:00 am CET.
"The fire started in a loading pump in the utility shaft and was restricted to one area that is separated by fire barriers," Statoil said, adding that the automatic deluge system was triggered when the smoke was detected.
