Efficiencies involving as many as 600 man-years, equivalent to full-time positions, are being targeted in the company’s offshore operations over the next three years, Norwegian channel TV2 reported.
A Statoil spokesman was quoted as saying it is hoped this will be achieved through natural attrition as well as transfer of positions from fields in decline to new fields coming into operation, including Gina Krog, Aasta Hansteen and Johan Sverdrup.
