The PSA said the consent was given to Statoil in order to obtain information about the reservoir conditions in the field, which is located off Norway, around 155 kilometres west of Karmoy in Rogaland county.
The safety watchdog provided consent in two separate decisions, one for one of the wells and one for the other three.
Drilling, which will be done at a depth of 110-120 meters using the semi-submersible Deepsea Atlantic, will begin on 1 November and will last around four months, the PSA said.
