The state-owned company presented on Friday the findings of its internal probe into the crash in which 13 personnel died when a Super Puma EC225 flying from Statoil’s Gullfaks B platform in the North Sea to Bergen's Flesland Airport plunged from the sky after its rotor head became detached from the fuselage of the aircraft.

Statoil stated in its report the company’s organisation of helicopter safety “appears complicated with many players and varying understanding of the individual’s role in this work”.

“Although
