US independent Stone Energy has officially killed its plans to drill and develop the prospect it calls Lamprey in the southern reaches of the deep-water US Gulf of Mexico.
Stone, which will emerge from bankruptcy this month, said in a quarterly update that it no longer plans any work in Alaminos Canyon Block 943, where Lamprey is located.
"We were unable to secure a partner on this project, and we have elected to not further progress this prospect," Stone said in a statement.
