The fourth phase of the country's Round 1, launched just weeks ago, has already attracted interest from 14 companies, though their names were not divulged by the country's National Hydrocarbons Commission.
Of those, seven have requested access to data rooms, which opened in recent weeks, and four have been authorised to enter.
The French major, Anglo-Dutch supermajor and US giant are among the field of big companies with deep-water experience that were seen as expected to have interest in the Mexico play.
