The Ngapaeruru-1 well, which spudded on 22 April in Tag’s 100%-owned PEP 38349, is part of a highly-anticipated drilling campaign that the company has been planning for about six years.

Tag said the well, which was drilled by Webster Drilling’s rig Nova-1 to a total depth of 1417 metres, marked New Zealand’s first test directly targeting the Waipawa black shale and Whangai source rock formations.
