Technip has been awarded a new contract related to the tie-in of Petronas' first floating liquefied natural gas vessel to the Kanowit field off Bintulu, Malaysia.
Technip is already the main contractor for the PFLNG1 vessel in joint venture with Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering.
The 365-metre long ship will have LNG capacity of 1.2 million tonnes per annum.
Technip said today its new engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning contract covered the tie-in of PFLNG1 to the KAKG-A platform at the Kanowit field at a water depth of 80 metres.
