Technip is eyeing the redundancies in the subsea delivery business, which employees around 600 workers in the area.
The company said a consultation on the redundancies was under way with its workforce.
"In response to the ongoing challenges experienced by the UK oil and gas industry, Technip is proposing a reduction of its subsea industry delivery business,” the company said.
However, it added it remained “committed to being part of the UK North Sea market”.
