French engineering company Technip has been awarded a contract to supply umbilicals for an unnamed client in the US Gulf of Mexico.
The contract will see Technip manufacture several kilometres of static and dynamic unarmoured steel tube umbilical, while also providing project management services.
Technip provided little details on the client or the field saying only that the client was a“major operator” and the umbilical was destined for a high pressure field in the Gulf of Mexico.
