French player Technip has been awarded a contract for engineering and project management services on Shell’s Prelude floating liquefied natural gas facility, to be situated off Australia.
Under the deal, Technip will provide multi-disciplinary engineering and design support, and will allow the smooth delivery of brownfield engineering scope as the FLNG project moves into operations.
Technip will handle concept, front-end engineering design, detailed and follow-on engineering services, procurement and construction management services, as well as pre-commissioning, commissioning and hand-over services, it said.
The company will also provide operational testing support and specialist engineering support to supplement Shell Australia’s team.
