The French contractor has apparently pipped major rival Subsea 7 for the engineering, procurement, construction and installation deal that covers small subsea structures, a 15-kilometre production pipe and gas export line, as well as control cables.
No value was disclosed for the award, although there is likely to have been keen price competition due to a dearth of such contracts as operators have cut back on field development activity amid low oil prices.
