The award came after Technip carried out a detailed feasibility study for the Uzbekistan GTL plant, a joint venture between Uzbek state-owned oil & gas company Uzbekneftegas, South Africa’s Sasol Synfuels International and Malaysia’s Petronas.

The plant is set to have a capacity of 1.4 metric tonnes per year and will produce GTL diesel, kerosene, naphtha and liquid petroleum gas.

Technip said the work would be carried out by its Rome-based operating centre, with some support from its Kuala Lumpur base.
