Theiss will work on the downstream portion of the project, incorporating earthworks, access roads and a storm water drainage system, under the contract awarded by US construction company Bechtel.
Work is due to begin onsite in early fourth quarter of 2012, with site preparation works scheduled for completion in early 2014.
The deal is Thiess’s fourth for the Wheatstone project, with the company contracted to deliver the Wheatstone microtunnel and working with Bechtel and partners to build the materials offloading facility and LNG and condensate tanks on site.
