Total said on Thursday that, under the agreement, it will retain a 20% interest in Kharyaga.

The value of the deal is confidential, Total said. However, the 20% stake in Kharyaga represents around 6000 barrels of daily production for the company, which compares to its overall output in Russia of around 300,000 barrels per day.

Following the deal, Zarubezhneft will take over as project operator with a 40% share, together with Statoil (30%) and Russia’s Nenets Oil Company (10%).
