Yves-Louis Darricarrere, Total's upstream president, said in a keynote speech at WGC 2015 in Paris that gas reserves remain abundant around the globe but their development requires heavy investment as well as attractive returns for investors.
"We anticipate a significant upsurge in LNG demand, expected to double by 2030, mainly driven by Asia," Darricarrere told delegates.
"More than half of the anticipated new supply has not yet been sanctioned.
