Well-placed sources said an official announcement is planned Wednesday where all details will be revealed.
Sources indicated the LNG plant will be located at Caution Bay near the capital city of Port Moresby.
This is the same location as the ExxonMobil-operated PNG LNG facility.
On the one hand, Caution Bay is the obvious choice, but on the other hand there was political pressure in PNG for the LNG plant to be located in Gulf Province which hosts the Elk-Antelope fields, said sources.
