According to the MoU, signed after a meeting between Total chief executive Patrick Pouyanne Iran President Hassan Rouhani, NIOC will provide technical data on certain gas and oil projects "so that Total can assess potential developments in Iran".
The parties also signed a framework agreement for the purchase of crude oil, in particular for French and European refineries, Total said in a statement.
