The French supermajor has taken the construction support vessel Far Sleipner for a firm 18-month period to support its subsea development work in the region.

The contract will begin in the fourth quarter, with Total retaining six extension options, each for two months.

The Far Sleipner has already been working for Total on its Moho Nord development off Congo-Brazzaville. The $11 billion deep-water development is due on stream this quarter, targeting production of 100,000 barrels per day.
