French supermajor Total will next month take over operatorship of a licence in Papua New Guinea from InterOil where the partners are developing the Elk-Antelope gas discovery.
InterOil will hand over operatorship of petroleum retention licence 15 from 1 August although it will take control of drilling the Antelope-4 sidetrack well, which is set to spud soon.
Total will then take over control of drilling the next probe, Antelope-6.
