Transocean said in its latest fleet status report on Thursday that it had secured the contract for semisub Jack Bates, with a dayrate of $127,000.
The contract extends from October this year until October 2018. It will add about $93 million to Transocean's backlog, the company reckons.
Upstream reported in early June that Jack Bates was tipped to win the contract at that dayrate.
