In its fleet status report issued on Wednesday, the US company said its deep-water rig Jack Bates had landed a three-well contract with an unnamed operator off Australia, with work starting in July.
The rig will earn a dayrate of $525,000, up 38% from the rate currently being charged to Australian independent Santos.
The drillship Deepwater Millenium will also be moved to Australia, from Mozambique where it is currently working for Anadarko at a dayrate of $545,000.
