The 17,000-tonne semi-submersible unit was towed off the rocks by a pair of tugboats at Dalmore Bay on the western shore of the island at around 10pm on Monday night, according to the UK’s Maritime & Coastguard Agency (MCA).
It followed work by salvors, led by Dutch contractor Smit Salvage, to transfer the remaining diesel onboard to another vessel to minimise the risk of pollution during the refloat operation.
The
