Deballasting of the unit was carried out over the weekend at its location in Broad Bay on the Isle of Lewis, with Norwegian contractor Offshore Heavy Transport’s heavy-lift vessel Hawk on standby for the move.
“At the moment the operation to move the rig has to wait for a weather window within operational limits. Based on current forecasts this is unlikely to be for at least two days but forecasts are being closely monitored,” the UK’s Maritime & Coastguard Agency said on Monday.
