The governments of Venezuela and Trinidad & Tobago have signed an agreement that could allow natural gas produced in Venezuela to flow to thirsty customers on the island of Trinidad.
Trinidad & Tobago Prime Minister Keith Rowley and his Venezuelan counterpart Nicolas Maduro signed the deal in Caracas.
While few details of the agreement were released, Venezuela’s state-run PDVSA said the countries will link offshore gas fields in Venezuela’s Mariscal Sucre area including the Dragon field to the Shell-operated Hibiscus platform in Trinidad, which will travel through a 66-mile, 24-inch pipeline to the Atlantic LNG facility in Trinidad.
The
