The Anglo-Irish independent will start commercial flows from Kenya in March, a statement from the office of President Uhuru Kenyatta read on Wednesday.

The statement, which also confirmed that the Cabinet has approved the development plan for the Lokichar-Lamu crude pipeline, said initial production will be carried by rail and road.

Production will start with initial flows of between 2000 barrels per day and 4000 bpd being sent to the Kenyan port of Mombasa.
