The operator said on Friday that it found and sampled moveable oil at the Agete-1 exploration probe, recording an estimated 100 metres of net pay in good quality sandstone reservoirs.
Agete-1 is Tullow’s fifth consecutive oil discovery in the region and follows Ekales-1, which encountered net oil pay measuring between 60 and 100 metres in September.
According to Tullow, this latest find is on trend with the Twiga South, Ekales and Ngamia oil discoveries and also de-risks several follow-on prospects located to the north.
