About 40,000 jobs have been lost in the past 12 months alone, trade association Oil & Gas UK (OGUK) said in its annual economic report.

About 330,000 jobs are now supported directly or indirectly by the offshore oil and gas industry.

This is still a “significant level of employment across the UK”, OGUK said, but is 27% down from a peak of about 450,000 in 2014 when Brent crude was trading at more $100 per barrel.
