The Department of Energy and Climate Change’s head of offshore licensing, exploration and development Simon Toole is to become the OGA’s licensing and legal director.
Toole’s remit will take in onshore exploration and production activity, industry-wide licensing and dispute resolution, the OGA said.
The DECC’s head of coal liabilities Ian McKenzie is to become chief implementation officer, heading the finance, procurement, internal audit and IT activities needed to establish the OGA.
