The 74-kilometre route, which runs from Ula to the Ekofisk field for onward transport to Teeside in the UK, was commissioned in 1986 and originally was designed for an operating life of 30 years.
The British operator will now be allowed to operate the pipeline until its production licence for the field expires in December 2028.
