Offshore driller UMW Holdings has been awarded a contract to supply a jack-up drilling rig for the Ophir oilfield development, off Peninsular Malaysia.
Field partner Octanex revealed UMW would supply its jack-up Naga-2 in the second quarter of next year to drill three production wells.
The Ophir field is being developed under a risk service contract which was granted in 2014 to the joint venture which consists of Octanex (50%), Scomi Energy Services (30%) and Vestigo Petroleum(20%).
