Production at Ungani, which is an equal joint venture between Buru and Mitsubishi, is at an initial rate of 1250 barrels per day of oil, with an initial increased target of 2500 bpd, rising to 3000 bpd, said Buru.
Ungani was the first conventional oil discovery in Western Australia in 10 years; it was found in 2011.
It produced about 470,000 barrels of oil during an extended production test.
