Workers' unions have been given legal approval to get their members to vote on a potential strike just as the US supermajor is moving Gorgon toward first LNG production.
Fairfax Media reported that the Fair Work Commission has ruled that the Construction, Forestry, Mining & Energy Union and the Australian Manufacturing Workers' Union can stage a protected ballot of their members who are employed by the main contractors working on Barrow Island.
