The latest addition, issued in a new rule disclosed by the US Federal Register, effectively bars US technology exports for use at the Gazprom-operated field in the Sea of Okhotsk in Russia’s far east.
The field, discovered by Gazprom in 2010, is said to contain “substantial” reserves of oil and gas and is reported to be one of the Russian gas giant’s biggest offshore fields.
